Week 7 of the UFL season kicked off with a dominant performance from the St. Louis Battlehawks, who defeated the Columbus Aviators 31-20 at home on Friday night to move to 5-2 on the year.
Here is the Week 7 result:
St. Louis Battlehawks 31, Columbus Aviators 20
Key performers:
Battlehawks quarterback Luis Perez completed 16 of 30 passes for 204 yards and one touchdown, while wide receiver Hakeem Butler hauled in three receptions for 77 yards. For the Aviators, QB Jalan McClendon went 20-for-28 for 153 yards and two touchdowns, and WR Tay Martin caught seven passes for 55 yards and one score.
Game recap:
Columbus entered the matchup after an impressive win, but their defense struggled in the first half against St. Louis’ high-octane attack. Perez orchestrated a 24-7 halftime lead for the Battlehawks, rushing for a touchdown on the opening drive and later connecting on a 14-yard passing score late in the first quarter.
While McClendon posted solid numbers on paper — 153 passing yards, two touchdowns, and a 71% completion rate — the Battlehawks’ offense was far more balanced, efficiently striking through both the run and pass. St. Louis amassed 304 total yards (198 passing, 106 rushing). Jarveon Howard led the ground game with 55 rushing yards, while Kylin James added 41 yards and two rushing touchdowns.
Perez, the Battlehawks’ third starting quarterback of the season, guided the balanced offense to its fifth win in his first start.
Up next:
The Battlehawks return home to host the Houston Gamblers at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday. The Aviators will travel to face the Birmingham Stallions at 1 p.m. ET Sunday on FOX.
