The celebration is blue and white! FC Porto have been crowned national champions following a 1-0 victory over Alverca at the Estádio do Dragão on Saturday, securing the 2025/26 Liga Portugal Betclic title. The Dragons clinched the championship with two matchdays still to play, as Francesco Farioli’s side now sits on 85 points — nine ahead of second-placed Benfica and 12 clear of third-place Sporting, though the Lions have one game in hand.
This triumph ends a three-season drought for the Porto club, which last won the Portuguese league in the 2021/22 season. Since then, Benfica claimed the title once, while Sporting secured back-to-back championships over the last two campaigns.
Notably, this marks the 31st time FC Porto have won the national league in their history. The Dragons now boast 10 more league titles than Sporting, who have 21, and trail Benfica by seven — the Eagles hold a record 38 league triumphs. This year, however, the party is blue and white!
