Trade speculation surrounding Jaylen Brown has resurfaced following reports that the Atlanta Hawks and Boston Celtics briefly explored a potential deal prior to the February trade deadline.
According to sources, the talks never gained serious traction, as Atlanta was not ready to make a full financial commitment to Brown’s contract while continuing to build its roster. Boston, meanwhile, remained reluctant to part with one of its franchise cornerstones without receiving a significant return in exchange.
Brown’s connections to Atlanta have fueled ongoing rumors. The Georgia native has consistently received strong support from Hawks fans whenever the Celtics visit the city.
The All-Star forward still has three years and $183 million remaining on his current deal and is eligible for another massive extension this offseason.
Brown has spent 10 seasons with the Celtics, averaging 20.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 674 regular-season games. He has been selected to four All-Star Games and has won one NBA championship along with one Finals MVP award.
