The Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants will renew their NFC East rivalry in Week 1 of the 2026 season, with the game scheduled for Sunday Night Football on September 13 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

This marks the eighth time in 15 seasons that these two teams will open the regular season against each other. The Giants, now under new head coach John Harbaugh, are looking to build on their first home win over Dallas since 2020, which they secured last season with a 34-17 victory.
Harbaugh, who was hired by the Giants after being let go by the Baltimore Ravens, will face a significant early test against a Cowboys squad that has historically dominated the series. Dallas swept the season series for four consecutive years before the Giants finally broke through last season. The Cowboys still managed a split, winning 40-37 in overtime after Brandon Aubrey’s 64-yard field goal forced extra time.
The NFL is set to release the full 2026 schedule on Thursday, but this marquee matchup has already been confirmed ahead of that date. The Giants’ last victory in Dallas came in 2016, adding extra pressure to Harbaugh’s debut in a highly anticipated prime-time clash.
