Lamborghini celebrates its 63rd anniversary with a special event hosted at the Imola circuit on May 9 and 10. The gathering, dubbed Lamborghini Arena, is designed to bring together owners, customers, and fans to explore the history of the Sant’Agata Bolognese brand.

As expected, the celebration revolves around the number 63, which Lamborghini has long used as an internal signature tied to its origins. The brand recalls that it was in 1963 when Ferruccio Lamborghini launched a company that aimed to rival the finest sports cars of the era without following traditional industry rules. That same year also saw key milestones: on October 2, 1963, the 3.5-liter V12 engine roared to life on a test bench for the first time—a powerplant that would become one of Lamborghini’s most iconic features for decades. Just a few weeks later, on October 30, the Lamborghini 350 GTV was unveiled to the public at the Turin Motor Show after an initial preview for the Italian press in Sant’Agata Bolognese.
Lamborghini incorporates the number 63 into several special editions and recent projects, especially limited-production models and initiatives tied to electrification and motorsport. Examples include the Sián FKP 37, produced in just 63 units and marking the start of Lamborghini’s hybrid era, as well as the Aventador SVJ 63 and SVJ 63 Roadster, where the number distinguishes exclusive variants. The numeral also appears in competition with the SC63, a hybrid prototype developed for the FIA World Endurance Championship. Lamborghini uses 63 as a thread connecting past and future, blending historical references with projects pointing toward the company’s next technological chapter.
This concept extends to external collaborations. Lamborghini highlights joint projects with Ducati, from the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini to the Panigale V4 Lamborghini Speciale Clienti, where 63 again emerges as a common element between the two Italian brands. The company acknowledges that the number’s significance goes beyond a mere historical reference. Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, states: “63 is much more than a number: it is a symbol that expresses our essence.”
Even subtle details tie into the anniversary. Lamborghini mentions the color Giallo Maggio, a yellow shade whose name references the month of May—the month the company was born. According to the brand, an increasing number of customers choose it for special configurations.
The Imola event aims to bring together historic cars, current models, and a large portion of the Lamborghini community in one space. Over the two days, the brand seeks to turn the anniversary into a shared experience rather than a simple institutional commemoration.
