Ollie Watkins, Aston Villa’s star forward, confirmed that facing Burnley was a difficult encounter, despite the hosts already being relegated to the English Football League Championship.
Watkins said: “It was a very tough game, and you’ve seen in recent weeks that they’ve grown stronger. Manchester City only won here 1-0. It was a valuable point after falling behind, but it’s a shame we took the lead and then let the win slip away.”
He added: “It’s a good point. If you can’t win the match, you should at least avoid losing. We face Liverpool next time, and we always make it difficult for them.”
He continued: “We achieved a great result in the Europa League a few days ago, but we expended a lot of energy and effort in those matches.”
